I think we just need to add the manual to the dashboard in a slightly different way. Here is a step by step guide:
1. in the Virtual Box dashboard right click on the manual and select "remove" (but not all data if it asks you);
2. open the Virtual Box dashboard and select the "machine" tab at the top and then "new";
3. a box will pop up where you need to name the manual, something like "WORKSHOP" will do, don't alter any other settings and click "next";
4. the next screen just click "next";
5. on the next screen select "use an existing hard disk file" and navigate to the executable file in the extracted file and double click it;
6. the manual should now be added to the dashboard and you can now click the green "start" arrow and your manual will begin to load up. Once it has loaded there is a "quick start guide" on the virtual desktop.
